Jian Yu and colleagues at Hawaii Natural Energy institute have been able to use a two-tank method to convert food waste into biodegradable PBHB and PHBV. The technique was reported in Environmental Science & Technology (DOI:10.1021/es011110o). The end result is 22-25kg of polymer per 100kg of slurry.
