Internet “Economically Destructive” ?

An Eric Norlin character argues that the Internet is economically destructive.

I think he is superficially right, but fundamentally incorrect. In short, I believe that the internet provides a mechanism for economic activity that is fundamentally more efficient than the prevailing meatspace model; it is ‘destructive’ only in the sense that it will supplant the old one. I schetchily lay out an argument for this in an overview planning document for this software I’m working on.
